This place has the cute old school diner charm, which I've always loved. That's pretty much were the good stuff stops. The wait wasn't very long even though the place was packed. There were 6 of us and when they took up to our table they had 6 chairs crammed around a table meant for 4. It made for a very uncomfortable breakfast. The waitress was VERY rude and mostly absent during our breakfast. Food wasn't anything special. I ordered pancakes and was really disappointed that they only have plain pancakes. No blueberry or banana, just crappy canned toppings. The food's saving grace is the potatoes were excellent. I'd only ever go back to this place is it was because someone else insisted. I'd rather go to Dianna's where both the service and food have always been excellent.

The food is okay. It's jus the average eggs, meat side and toast. Nothing too special, but it tastes okay. The food comes out pretty fast though. The ladies who work Sunday mornings are pretty hard workers and are very nice.

Long lines, greasy food, dirty floors.......friendly servers. Clearly a holdover from the days when Marblehead was merely a fishing community, it defies logic that people continue to eat here. Canned compote on Eggo quality waffles. Greasy omelettes you could easily make at home. Limp pancakes below the quality of McDonalds........and you pay more and wait longer for the experience. Do yourself a favor, drive to Port Clinton for A La Carte or Mayhews.

Stopped in today for breakfast. Saw two waitresses and about six other customers. Waitress came fairly quickly with menus and water and then forgot us. Other customers arrived and she attended to them and took their orders. Continued to ignore us. The second waitress parked in a corner booth and watched us but did nothing. Our waitress spent all her time in the kitchen. We finally gave up and left. I guess a total of eight customers was too much for two waitresses to handle.

We stopped in at the Peninsula Restaurant today about 12:30. He got the perch platter which is good. I saw a Famous Roast Beef sandwich to try. It's pretty hard to make a bad hot roast beef sandwich or so I thought. This place cooked the meat months ago, froze it dry and heats it up in a microwave when someone orders it. It had the texture of cardboard and the taste as well. They brought a steak knife with it but it wasn't needed. The meat crumbled into a dry pile using a fork. Parts seemed to have a green sheen to it. Avoid it!

We had the fresh perch platter and it was delicious. Service was ok. Efficient server, just a little short. Maybe just because of North south cultural difference. But I would reccomend.

We loved both the atmosphere and the food here! We were there for breakfast, so I ordered the french toast with sausage, and both were so delicious. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich, and they put the English muffin on the griddle so it was crispy on the inside---he said it has changed the way he'll make breakfast sandwiches at home from here on out! The service was friendly and our coffee cups and water glasses were always full. The prices are also very reasonable. Definitely check this out if you're in the Marblehead area!
